CPR / AED

This American Heart Association (AHA) course provides essential training in CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for adults, children, and infants. The course covers the following key areas:

  • Scene Assessment and Safety: Learn how to assess the safety of the environment before providing assistance.
  • Medical Emergencies: Understand how to respond to common medical emergencies such as asthma, allergic reactions, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and seizures.
  • Injury Emergencies: Gain skills to manage situations involving bleeding, shock, wounds, spinal injuries, broken bones, and sprains.
  • Environmental Emergencies: Learn how to handle emergencies caused by bites, stings, temperature extremes, and poisoning.
  • CPR Techniques: Master CPR skills for adults, children, and infants, focusing on effective compressions and breathing techniques.
  • AED Operation: Get hands-on experience in using an AED to restore a normal heart rhythm during cardiac emergencies.
  • Choking Relief: Learn how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a two-year certification card from the AHA. The course meets all Washington State (WISHA) and federal (OSHA) requirements.
